Register of indirectly collected data (Art. 14 GDPR)

For its research the project also records data about persons that it does not collect from the persons themselves, for example from sermons, speeches or devotional books. Article 14 GDPR requires that the persons concerned are informed about this. This register lists, for each class of sources, which data are recorded, on which legal basis, how the persons concerned are informed and whether the class is currently collected.

The register names no persons and gives no number of persons.

Individual information under Art. 14 GDPR is not omitted across the board because of the research purpose or because a source is publicly available. For each source class we examine and document, before the processing starts, whether informing persons individually is impossible, would involve a disproportionate effort or would seriously impair the research purpose. We take into account in particular the number of persons concerned and whether they can be reached, the age of the data, the effort, the possible effects on the persons concerned and the safeguards in place. Where Art. 14(5)(b) is applied, the information required by law is in any case made available to the public in a suitable way.
