Trends and comparisons
How often books, book groups, chapters or verses are used over time, and how denominations, persons, translations, sources, topics, years or audience sizes compare: up to six lines side by side, in the approved public records of the official profile.
The sources of this database cover very different years. A rise or fall in the number of uses mostly shows which sources cover a period, not how popular a passage was. Read the share: the uses of this passage per thousand of all uses recorded for the same period.
Years are compared by their place in the calendar year: by month, by week (7-day steps from 1 January; week 53 is 30–31 December) or by day. Days line up by calendar date, so 1 March is the same point in every year; 29 February is its own day, a gap in years that are not leap years. The share is the part of the year's uses, dated precisely enough, that falls into each period.
