Versification

Bible editions do not all number their verses the same way: a verse can have another number in another edition, or be missing there. This page shows how each versification system on this site numbers a verse, and where a system differs from the base system that the site uses for its labels.

Type a reference as you would write it in the chosen language (book names and separators of that language). It is read in the system chosen under "Read the reference in" (by default the base system). The first column is how the database stores each verse (its neutral key); every other column shows the number that system gives it. A dash means the system lacks the verse; highlighted cells differ from the base system.
